適用范圍：This British Standard gives recommendations for remedial treatments and allied processes for use in the conservation of documents that have a long term value and are held in archives, libraries or private collections. It is not applicable to photographs, works of art on paper or electronic media. NOTE Information about the storage of various kinds of photographic material is given in BS 1153. Photographic film of archival quality is specified in BS 5699-1 and BS 5699-2. The standard is applicable to treatments that might be necessary to ensure the continued preservation of paper, parchment and seals. Methods of treatment are explained in detail only if information about them is not easily available elsewhere. These recommendations apply to the conservation of documents in the United Kingdom but might be appropriate for other countries with similar, temperate climates.
