適用范圍：1.1 This code gives recommendations regarding the factors to be given consideration while planning and designing water supply and sanitation system peculiar to high altitudes and/or sub-zero temperature regions of the country.1.2 The broad principles involved in the planning and designing of sanitary engineering are not materially different in high altitudes and sub-zero temperature regions but require only suitable modifications to meet the high altitude and low temperature requirements. As such this code elaborates the modifications required for the functioning of satisfactory water supply and sanitation system in these regions of the country. The normal requirements of these services in respect of buildings located in the plains have already been dealt with in IS : 2065-1963* and IS : 1742-1960〓.
