適用范圍：This British Standard specifies safety requirements for chairs withsupport surfaces the position of which can be adjusted electrically bythe seated person and/or an attendant, including reclining chairs andriser chairs. It is applicable to chairs for use by a person weighing up to100 kg. The standard is not applicable to multiple seating units.In the text of this standard the term “chairs” is used to refer to chairswith electrically operated support surfaces.This British Standard is applicable to chairs that are intended by themanufacturer to be used as medical devices as defined by EC Directive93/42 (the Medical Devices Directive) [1].The standard is not applicable to chairs that are intended for use duringthe administration of treatment by a medical practitioner, for exampledentists’ chairs.NOTE Chairs with electrically operated support surfaces that are notintended by the manufacturer to be used as medical devices are specifiedin BS 8474.
