適用范圍：This British Standard provides a general introduction to all the steelsurface preparation standards. It gives general information on all theseparate groups of standards, along with a complete listing of all thepublished standards that cover abrasive blast-cleaning, hand- andpower-tool cleaning and flame cleaning of steel substrates.This British Standard also includes definitions that are applicableto all the standards listed. Additional definitions, specific to certainprocesses, are given in the respective standards.To help the user, all of the ‘older’ BS 7079 references are given so thatthe new and/or updated standards can easily be found, as (althoughsome remain dual-numbered) many are now only known by theirBS EN ISO reference.Although the surface preparation standards are primarily intendedfor use with hot-rolled steel, abrasive blast-cleaning methods, inparticular, might also be applicable to the surface preparation ofcold-rolled steel of sufficient thickness to withstand any deformationcaused by the impact of the abrasive.The standards are not applicable to non-ferrous substrates such asaluminium or galvanized or electroplated steel.
