適用范圍：This specification applies to electric heating and electric motor-operated or magnetically-driven appliances for household and similar purposes, including office machines.Appliances not intended for normal household use, but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as appliances intended to be used by laymen in shops, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this specification. Examples of such appliances are hairdressers, soldering irons, sterilizers, infra-red radiation appliances, feed boilers, water pumps and lawn mowers.Except in so far as this specification deals with electric toys, it does not take into account the special hazards which exist in nurseries and other places where there are young children or aged or infirm persons without supervision; in such cases additional requirements may be necessary.This specification does not apply to:— appliances designed exclusively for industrial purposes;— appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas);— separate motors;— appliances for high frequency heating except microwave ovens;— radio and television receiving appliances (SS 143);— appliances for medical purposes.Gramophones and similar motor-operated appliances intended to be used in, or in combination with, electronic equipment are tested together with such equipment, in accordance with SS 143. For appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary.1.2 This specification is concerned with safety and takes into account the effect on safety of components necessary to achieve a required degree of radio and television interference suppression.
