It may also be used forclassifying standards and normative documents in databases, libraries, etc.1.2 The ICS should facilitate the harmonization of information and orderingtools such as catalogues, selective lists, bibliographies, and databases onmagnetic and optical media, thus promoting the world-wide dissemination ofinternational, regional and national standards and other normativedocuments.
